Advanced Nanotechnologies is a pioneer in nanocoating for industrial purposes, empowered by its cutting edge technology and intellectual property. AN has developed two vacuum machines to carry out the coating activity without involving third parties.
The management team is led by Antonio Onteniente physic and MBA from ESADE and Enric Bertrán Professor at Universidad de Barcelona, Enric has more than 30 years’ experience in nanotechnology and holds 13 patents.
Established in 2012 as a spin-of of Universidad de Barcelona, specialized in nanocoating for industrial materials and components.
The current focus is on anti-scratch, anti-fog, wear resistance and gas barrier solutions, but the technology could be applied to other solutions such as anti-corrosion, anti-fingerprint and others.

Advanced Nanotechnologies (AN) has 4 patents: two related to anti-fog, another to wear resistance and other with surface heater solutions We’ve also developed two vacuum machines to carry out the coating activity without involving third parties:
- OneDimAN is able to apply coatings to pieces with a length of 1,5 meters. This is useful for long components like the ones used in the printing sector.
- Fullman7 is designed to be versatile; many different materials like carbon nanotubes and graphene nanotubes can be coated easily.
The printing industry, automotive, food and beverage, and ophthalmologic industry are currently demanding our kind of nanocoating solutions.
AN won the Hewlett-Packard (HP) open innovation program, competing with top international companies. Companies like HP in the printing industry, Magna Mirrors automotive, FEDE in jewellery and Schneider in the ophthalmologic industry are interested in AN anti-scratch and/or AN anti-fog solutions.
Advanced Nanotechnologies Solutions are able to enhance the performance of materials and longer their lifetime. Our coating solutions provide a low coefficient of friction and a high level of resistance to the wear.
Our origin and team
Advanced Nanotechnologies (AN) is a technical-scientific company founded by Antonio Ontiniente (C.E.O.) and the Applied Physics Professor Dr. Enric Bertran in 2009. The growth in popularity and use of nanotechnology in universities and research centers urged Mr. Ontiniente and Dr. Bertran to set up their own company specializing in nanotechnology, with a line of professional scientists who have achieved expertise in the areas of nanoparticles and nano-coatings.
Throughout our operating years, we have gained invaluable experiences in the industrial world, and we’ve offered nanotechnology services to clients from many industries. All of them based on our long expertise in applied physics and materials engineering as well as in the industrial business field.

Holds a bachelor in physics and an MBA from ESADE. Entrepreneur. Founded his first company in 2007. ONTELEDGE an operation consulting from specialized in industrial and automotive sectors. Previously, Antonio worked for 15 years in TEIR 1 multinational companies in the automotive sector, holding different positions.
Sc. D. Enric Bertran
Professor in applied physics and optics at Universidad de Barcelona. Prestigious researcher, due to his work on nanotechnology applied to materials for industrial proposes. Has published more than 200 scientific articles. Holds 16 patents, 6 related to nanotech Has developed Electrochromic Mirrors for Ficosa International.
